Move over, Jerry Seinfeld. Looks like you’ve got some competition on your hands…

Mary Maxwell, a 72-year-old friend of the couple who founded Home Instead Senior Care, was asked to give the Invocation at a convention a few years back. Her prayer was supposed to honor the amazing caretakers. But when she stepped up to the mic,

She seemed like any other sweet older lady about to lead the audience in a prayer. But things took a turn for the hilarious when Mary went off script and started to make jokes about the process of growing old. With the timing of a professional comedian, this diminutive “little old lady” shines a very funny light on the foibles of aging, to the delight of an audience filled with senior-care experts. She deadpanned her way through the entire speech, cracking the audience up over and over again.

Time and time again, we’ve seen seniors prove that you’re only as old as you feel! If only we could all age with such grace and humor. Well done, Mary!
